Tibetan MP talks about Empowering the Vision

Visiting the UK on behalf of Tibet Relief fund, a Charity which funds projects in India, Nepal and Tibet to improve health and education for Tibetans.  Youdon runs Tibet Relief Fund’s youth project in Delhi -‘Empowering the Vision‘ which works with young Tibetans.  She is also an MP for the Tibetan government in exile.

This is a unique opportunity to heart Youdon speak about her work with Empowering the Vision.  She will talk first hand about the reality of being a young Tibetan living in India.

Mrs. Youdon Aukatsang is one the youngest members to be elected to the 14th House of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile. Prior to joining ENVISION, she worked as an Independent consultant with Kreddha International, an organization based in The Hague, The Netherlands, dedicated to prevention and resolution of intra-state conflicts.

Mrs. Aukatsang worked with Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy as the Senior Programme Officer and continues to serve on its Board. She was elected as an Executive Member of the Tibetan Women’s Association (CENTREX) from 2000-2003 and has worked with the organization as a Research Associate soon after her post-graduate studies in 1998. As a component of her professional training for 18 months after Fulbright scholarship, she worked with the Massachusetts State Office for Refugees and Immigrants and Irish Immigration Center, both based in Boston, USA.

Mrs. Aukatsang is a recipient of Fulbright Scholarship and has completed her Masters in International Law and Diplomacy from Fletcher School, Tufts University, MA (USA). She also has a Master of Arts in International Politics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India and a Bachelor’s from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University.
